CQ Politics Launches 2008 Election Forecasts for All 50 States

New series features state-by-state race ratings and analysis of the presidential race and competitive congressional contests

WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Congressional Quarterly Inc., the nation’s premier provider of news, analysis and information on Congress, politics and public policy, today announced the launch of a new series, 2008 Election Forecasts, the newest addition to CQ Politics’ unrivaled coverage of the presidential and congressional races.

Leading up to the conventions, CQ Politics will release individual 2008 Election Forecasts for all 50 states. Each forecast analyzes a state’s political landscape, providing CQ’s signature race ratings (safe, favored, leans or no clear favorite) for the presidential race, the number of electoral votes at stake, and insight into which candidate is likely to prevail in November. The forecasts also profile all the competitive congressional races in the state and rate each one as well.

The 2008 Election Forecasts are located on CQ Politics at http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?parm1=5&tag=forecast.

“The CQ Politics team is working diligently to provide electoral profiles for every state, including our race ratings for the presidential and most competitive congressional races,” said Bruce Drake, general manager of CQ Consumer Publishing. “This series provides our readers with CQ’s deep insight into the political make-up of every state, as well as the candidates that have the upper hand at this stage of the game.
