Keeping Busy

Too often we end up at the mall roaming around just for something to do. If you look at the right sources you can find lots of great stuff to do outside of the mall. Too often we end up spending money we don't have just to get a change of scenery. On this page I will include ideas for getting out of the house without doing the mall thing.

Check with your parks and recreation services to find out if they offer classes and services geared towards stay at home moms. These classes often range from the mommy and me kind of class to organized events. They are often much cheaper than your indoor play gyms.

Find and locate each and every playground in your area. Set aside a time to go at least once a week to a playground. With laws protecting our green space, more and more money is going to the upkeep of our parks and playgrounds. They are becoming really nice and well kept up. Here in California our roads are yucky but our parks are wonderful. I have two with in a block of my home. It is great because I just have to walk to the playground.

Sometimes it may be worth it to get an annual pass to a theme park. Particularly the water parks. These combine most kids two favorite things slides and water. A great way to do something different. Usually passes are the price of two days worth of admissions. This is a great way to go for a few hours at a time. Treat it like you would any other park and stay out of the stores.
